Boiling Point serves Taiwanese hot soup through its growing chain of casual restaurants. We've worked together since 2010, and have been fans and regulars before that. At the time they had 2 locations in Southern California. Today they have 31 locations spanning the West Coast from Los Angeles, California to Vancouver, Canada, and throughout China.
What started as one project to design their website has grown into a creative partnership of more than eight years giving voice to their distinct brand and culture across many customer touch-points.
The unique flavor of their food and the simplicity of their menu and business model are their strengths. Early on, we felt that effective visual branding could amplify these strengths to establish their identity and gain recognition. To our surprise, Boiling Point's leadership responded very positively to this idea. Since then, our work with Boiling Point has taught us how to use design to help solve various problems faced by a quickly growing restaurant chain, across a variety of scales and media.
We've worked to design obvious and essential assets like menus, business cards, posters, flyers, restaurant interiors and custom wallpaper, but also smaller touches like takeout dessert packaging, and custom illustrated pins on the server's hats. Our goal is to make emotional connections with their customers and win their loyalty. This is crucial to succeeding in a competitive market.
